AUN Library Collections
Collection Statistics With over 15,500 items in its collection, the AUN Library is still expanding to cater for the ever increasing demands of its patrons. The collection can be broken down as follows:
Physical Collections The General Collection, approximately 12,000 circulating books, is housed in the Stacks Room on the ground floor of the Multi-Purpose building. The Reference collection is located in the main Library and it contains 200+ encyclopedias, dictionaries and handbooks. Virtual Collections In addition to print materials, the library subscribes to nearly 30 electronic databases providing access to thousands of online journals through the library's website. Off campus access is available only via login and password. Collection Details The AUN Library collection can be divided into the various sections detailed below: Main Stacks Collection Located on the ground floor of the multi purpose building, the General Collection holds the majority of titles in the library. Books located in the General Collection can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Reference Collection Located in the main library, the Reference Collection holds materials such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, and Handbooks. In most circumstances, materials located in the Reference Collection may not be checked out. Please enquire with the reference librarian for short-term loan possibilities. Media Collection Located in the main library, the Media Collection holds materials such as DVD's, VHS tapes, Music CD's and Audiotapes. Material located in the Media Collection can be checked out depending on the class of the patron, please speak to the Circulation Attendants to see if you qualify. Periodical Collection Located in the main library, the Periodical Collection holds the print copies of the library's periodical subscriptions. Materials in this section can only be used within the Main Library premises.
