We will be sending out reminders for those of you who have books checked out. Please return your books before you leave so that the library can get them all in the system and be ready for the fall semester. If you would like special permission to keep a book for the summer, please just request this and we will be glad to consider this request
The following are the favourite monographs picked from our many acquisitions:
If so please use the following URL: http://10.1.1.3/acquire In the last few months we have begun new subscriptions to the following databases:
Links to these databases are all available via the new AAUN website, please ask a staff member if you need assistance I hope you all noticed the beautiful display of weaver bird's nest which was set up by Dr Janette Wallis in the central display cube. Thanks to her for sharing the nests and the information on weavers
Take a look at the new display case and cabinet to the left of the reference desk. This contains some of the first documents published as part of the establishment of AAUN. There are also 4 framed photographs on the wall which show the initial signing ceremony celebrating the agreement between AU and AAUN. These items form the begining of our University Archives repository. We have been receiving more journals from our distributor of international Journals, Swets as well as from local Nigerian sources. Please come and see these new journals on our shelves:
We have been given some articles and books which have been published by tha AAUN Faculty and Administrators. The small but growing collection needs your additions. We can accept these in hard or soft copy or both and will display them for our visitors. Thank you in advance! Isah Aliyu Mustapha: Now works for the Library as an intern doing a required industrial attachment for his study of Information Technology at F.U.T.Y. He will be working mostly in the cataloging area but may be seen in other areas of the Library. Please say hello to him M Nasiru Yakubu: Our new Systems Administrator has joined us to implement the new Web OPAC website, maintain the Library hardware and software as well as liasing with the IT department.
